About the Paloma’s terrazzo and wood
Terrazzo was born of resourcefulness in Venice. Centuries ago, Venetian workers took the leftover chips and offcuts from marble projects, set them into a base of clay and lime, and ground the surface smooth to create beautiful, hard-wearing floors for their homes and terraces, which is where the name comes from: terrazzo is Italian for “terrace.” The craft spread across Europe, and Italian artisans later carried it to America, where it became a signature of Art Deco lobbies, schools and grand public buildings. Terrazzo is made by mixing fragments of stone and minerals into a binder, then grinding and polishing it until its speckled pattern is revealed, so every piece has its own random constellation of chips and flecks and no two are ever exactly alike. It’s prized for being tough, long-lasting and full of character. The Paloma shapes it into a soft grey cone and crowns it with solid wood in a rich walnut finish, pairing the cool, speckled texture of stone with the natural warmth and grain of wood, two of the most timeless materials in design.

Why the Paloma looks so beautiful in a home
The Paloma brings texture and warmth to a room in a way smooth metal or glass pendants can’t. Its soft grey terrazzo, flecked with natural mineral chips, adds a quiet, earthy character, while the walnut-finish wood crown gives it a warm, handcrafted feel. Its cone shape directs the light downward into a soft, focused glow, perfect over a kitchen island or dining table where you want light on the surface and calm all around it. The Paloma comes in three configurations: a Single for a small dining table, bedside or entryway, and a Double or Triple on a linear canopy that lights a kitchen island or long table from a single ceiling point. Its grey and walnut palette pairs effortlessly with white and cream kitchens, natural oak and walnut, concrete, stone countertops, linen and black accents, making it a natural fit for Scandinavian, Japandi, mid-century and modern rustic interiors. And because it works on sloped ceilings up to 30°, it’s equally at home in a loft, an attic bedroom or a vaulted kitchen, adding a grounded, beautifully crafted finish to any space.

What bulbs does the Paloma use, and can it be dimmed?
Each shade uses one standard E26 bulb, up to 40W, so the Single takes one bulb, the Double two and the Triple three. Bulbs aren’t included, so you can choose the warmth you like; we recommend warm white LED bulbs at 2700–3000K. The Paloma is dimmable when you use dimmable bulbs with a compatible wall dimmer (sold separately), so you can set it bright for cooking or low and cozy for dinner.
Should I choose the Single, Double or Triple?
Every shade is 8.66″ (22 cm) wide and 6.69″ (17 cm) tall. The Single is ideal over a small dining table, beside a bed or in an entryway. The Double spans 23.62″ (60 cm) on a linear canopy, a great fit for a compact kitchen island or bistro table, while the Triple spans 31.50″ (80 cm) for standard kitchen islands and longer dining tables. Because the Double and Triple hang from a single canopy, they light a long surface from just one ceiling connection.
How is it installed, and how high should it hang?
The Paloma is hardwired to a ceiling junction box, and we recommend installation by a licensed electrician. It works on flat ceilings and sloped ceilings up to 30°, and its cable adjusts up to 59.06″ (150 cm). Over a kitchen island or dining table, a common guideline is to hang the bottom of the shades about 30–36″ above the surface. It works with US 110–120V homes and is designed for indoor, dry spaces.
