People have been fascinated by stone spheres for centuries: in Costa Rica, ancient artisans carved hundreds of remarkably round stone balls, some over six feet wide, that still puzzle archaeologists today. The Nera brings that timeless shape to a pendant light in natural marble. Marble forms when limestone is transformed by heat and pressure deep in the earth, and the dramatic dark veins that sweep across the Nera’s creamy white stone come from minerals such as iron oxides and graphite that flowed through it as it formed. On a sphere, those veins wrap continuously around the curve, so the pattern changes as you walk around it, and because every block of marble is different, no two Nera globes are ever alike. Marble is dense and naturally cool to the touch, but sensitive to water and acids, so a soft, dry cloth is all it needs to keep its beauty for years.

Is a bulb included?
Yes. Every Nera comes with a 4W LED bulb, so it’s ready to use as soon as it’s installed. It uses a standard G9 socket, so the bulb is easy to replace whenever you need to. When you do, we recommend a warm white G9 LED at 2700–3000K, which brings out the warmth of the marble and gives a soft, inviting glow.
How high should it hang, and how many should I use?
The Nera’s cable adjusts up to 78.74″ (200 cm), so it works with both standard and tall ceilings. Over a kitchen island or dining table, a common guideline is to hang the bottom of the globe about 30–36″ above the surface, with two or three pendants spaced about 24–30″ apart. Beside a bed, you can hang it lower, at roughly the height of a bedside lamp. In a stairwell or double-height space, a cluster at staggered heights makes a beautiful statement.
Will my Nera look exactly like the photos?
Every Nera globe is cut from natural marble, so the veining on yours will be completely unique. The pattern, thickness and placement of the dark veins vary from piece to piece, just as they do in any natural stone, so your pendant may look slightly different from the photos. That individuality is part of what makes natural marble so special: no one else will have exactly the same piece. It’s designed for indoor, dry spaces and should be installed by a licensed electrician.
