Can the Cassia be used outdoors?
The Cassia has water-repellent construction and looks beautiful in covered outdoor spaces, like a front entrance under an overhang, a covered porch or a sheltered patio wall. For the best long-term results, mount it where it’s protected from direct rain and standing water, since natural marble can slowly weather when fully exposed. It’s equally at home indoors, in hallways, living rooms and bedrooms.
Does it need bulbs, and can it be dimmed?
No bulbs are needed. The Cassia has a built-in 18W warm white LED that lights both upward and downward, washing the wall in two soft beams of light. It isn’t dimmable, and it works across a wide voltage range (AC 85–265V). With the LED built in, there’s nothing to replace, and it lights an area of about 11–54 sq ft.
How is it installed, and how do I care for it?
The Cassia mounts to a standard electrical box, so we recommend installation by a licensed electrician. At 12.6″ tall, 3.15″ wide and just 1.57″ deep, its slim profile sits neatly against the wall, and it’s especially striking as a pair framing a front door. To care for it, wipe the marble gently with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth, and avoid acidic or harsh cleaners, which can etch or stain natural stone.
